Marine Resources are looking for a Boatyard Operator for a full time permanent position on the River Hamble. The boatyard comprises of a 70-berth marina, extensive storage facilities, a private slipway and well-known tender builder Pascoe International resident in the industrial facilities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of boat handling and marina operation, as well as assisting with the maintenance and general upkeep of the site. The work is highly varied and includes general boatyard maintenance, office-based administration, as well as interacting with customers. The role would suit someone who is not afraid of hard work, enjoys variation and likes to work in an environment where their efforts are appreciated.
Main Responsibilities
Boat movements using Roodberg Slipway Trailer, JCB Telehandler, and various lifting equipment.
All aspects of marina management, including tracking supply of services on Marina Management Software and communicating with clients.
General repairs and maintenance to marina premises and buildings.
Assisting with maintenance of machinery.
Marina and pontoon repair and refurbishment.
Landscaping and grounds works.
Any additional tasks which may arise at the Boatyard Manager’s discretion.
Job Details:
40 hours per week - 08:00 – 16:30 with 30 minutes for lunch Monday to Friday.
Some flexibility during busy periods may be required.
25 days plus bank holidays paid holiday.
Desirable skills
Experience within a similar marina business is desirable, ideally with boat movements on a tidal slipway.
Experience with mixed site and building maintenance and repair works.
IT literate, familiar with the MS Office suite, MS Outlook, and ideally marina management software
Willingness and ability to complete physical work – much of the role requires manual handling and physical tasks.
Salary will depend on experience.
