Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead stability and classification efforts, leveraging tools like Paramarine.
  • Drive vessel concept development with a keen eye for innovation.
  • Excel in weight estimation, ensuring precision in engineering solutions.
  • While not hands-on with CFD, collaborate closely with development teams, mapping out strategic paths.
  • Project manage engineering endeavors with finesse.
  • Harness the power of predictions, particularly in the realm of powering.
  • Develop bespoke toolsets in Python or similar, showcasing a modern approach to optimization.
 
Key Requirements:
  • Your expertise spans stability, classification, and Paramarine use.
  • Proven experience in vessel concept development and weight estimation.
  • Preferably, exposure to hull development without being a hands-on CFD engineer.
  • Demonstrated prowess in engineering project management.
  • A knack for powering predictions that set industry standards.
  • Ability to develop bespoke toolsets in Python or similar, or a solid understanding of modern optimization techniques.
 
Qualifications
  • In depth knowledge of FEA analysis and recognised procedures. 
  • Knowledge of ship classification society rules. 
  • Experience in Siemens NX or other Nastran FEA environment software is a strong advantage. 
  • Proven experience in ship structures design according to CSR rules. 
  • Work experience in a shipyard/design office preferable. 
  • Experience in development and design of an internationally trading merchant vessels (especially bulk carriers and tankers). • Knowledge of ship cargo handling systems and structural design implications is an advantage. 
 
You should also have the following skills and abilities: 
  • Being open to learning and embracing new tool sets and working methodologies is a must. 
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills • Commercial awareness, with the ability to ensure 
  • that works are being carried out and completed to an appropriate standard and level of detail, measured against the contracted deliverables and tracked against the agreed timeline. 
  • The ability to work on your own or as part of a team on larger projects. 
  • Genuine interest in innovative ideas in 
  • decarbonisation technologies in the maritime industry.
