We are seeking an experienced and talented Technician Boatbuilder to join our innovative client based in Poole. As a leader in the boatbuilding industry, this exciting role offers more than just a standard job. You will be responsible for assembling, installing, repairing, and maintaining marine structures and equipment. Key Responsibilities of a Technician Boatbuilder:
Assemble, fit, and adapt marine structures and equipment.
Utilize advanced composite materials, including epoxy-based systems and GRP.
Collaborate with colleagues to complete system installations.
Apply primary, secondary, and final paint finishes to various components and assemblies.
Safely handle vessels and components using appropriate lifting tools and techniques.
Read and understand engineering drawings while ensuring quality standards are met.
Participate in process improvements to boost workshop efficiency.
Assist with sea trials and boat deliveries as required.
Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience of a Technician Boatbuilder:
Essential:
Relevant qualification such as City and Guilds, NVQ Level 3/BTEC, or a time-served apprenticeship.
Significant hands-on experience with marine composite structures, epoxy-based materials, and GRP.
Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and following standardized processes.
Desirable:
Practical, adaptable, and skilled in diagnosing faults effectively.
Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to train and mentor others.
