We are recruiting on behalf of an outstanding charitable organisation dedicated to empowering youth through experiential education and sailing, based on the beautiful island of Bermuda.

We’re seeking an enthusiastic Chief Instructor — or an experienced Senior Instructor ready to step up — who is looking for a leadership opportunity with real and lasting community impact. Due to the nature of the role, we require a dual-qualified instructor holding RYA Senior Instructor (SI) and RYA Powerboat Instructor (PBI) certifications.

This full-time Chief Instructor role offers the exciting chance to lead dynamic, hands-on learning programmes that build confidence, life skills, and personal growth in young people from all backgrounds. You will manage daily operations at one of Bermuda’s premier RYA training centres, overseeing programme delivery, safety, instructor supervision, and facility management.

This is not just a job — it’s a unique opportunity to live and work in an extraordinary island environment while positively shaping the future of Bermuda’s youth and growing professionally within a passionate, high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the daily operations of the training facility, ensuring excellent standards and the safe, responsible management of assets and grounds.
  • Deliver and facilitate classroom and on-water sailing instruction, creating a fun, engaging environment for young learners of all abilities.
  • Mentor, supervise, and appraise full-time and seasonal instructors.
  • Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with participants and their families to support ongoing engagement.
  • Maintain high safety standards at all times, both on and off the water.
  • Report on programme attendance, outcomes, and progress.
  • Oversee the cleanliness, organisation, and security of the marine fleet, docks, classrooms, and facilities.
If you’re passionate about youth development, ready to step into a leadership role, and excited to live and work in a vibrant island community, this opportunity is for you.
