We're seeking a skilled CNC Machine Shop Planner to join a dynamic and fast-paced environment. In this pivotal role, you’ll ensure seamless production planning, optimise processes, and contribute to the successful operation of the machine shop.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Production Planning and Scheduling:
    • Create and manage detailed production schedules to meet customer deadlines.
    • Prioritise work orders and allocate resources effectively.
    • Collaborate with departments to balance workloads and manage capacity constraints.
  2. MRP System Management:
    • Utilise MRP systems for inventory, production schedules, and materials procurement.
    • Maintain accurate records, including BOMs, work orders, and inventory levels.
  3. Technical Drawing Interpretation:
    • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
    • Translate requirements into detailed instructions for CNC operators.
  4. Process Optimisation:
    • Analyse and refine production processes to enhance efficiency.
    • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve machining processes.
  5. Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    • Ensure products meet quality standards and customer requirements.
    • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues.
  6. Communication and Coordination:
    • Act as a liaison between the machine shop, purchasing, and engineering teams.
    • Provide regular updates on production status and address potential delays.
  7. Inventory Control:
    • Monitor and manage inventory to prevent shortages or excesses.
    • Implement control measures to reduce waste and ensure timely material delivery.
  8. Continuous Improvement:
    • Lead initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
    • Train and mentor CNC operators on new processes and industry best practices.
About You:
  • Proven experience in CNC machine shop planning or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes and MRP systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • A proactive approach to process optimisation and continuous improvement.
