Marine Electrical Technician - Fareham - Contract
The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marine Electrical Technician to work in Fareham, Hampshire. alongside the present team of systems, electrical and mechanical engineers that are growing rapidly.
This position will work hand in hand with the engineering team to both design and create physical prototypes of electrical systems used in fully electric and hybrid hydrogen-electric marine propulsion systems.

The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marine Electrical Technician to work in Fareham, Hampshire. alongside the present team of systems, electrical and mechanical engineers that are growing rapidly.
This position will work hand in hand with the engineering team to both design and create physical prototypes of electrical systems used in fully electric and hybrid hydrogen-electric marine propulsion systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Experienced in reading and working with system schematic drawings.
- Experienced wiring looms lay-up for test rigs, including crimping, testing, splice loading, connector block loading for shared strain relief.
- Knowledge of wire gauge calculations.
- System earthing and grounding for power separation, noise suppression etc.
- Experience using basic electrical test tools DVM, digital diagnostic tools.
- Marine experience essential
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in marine.
- Knowledge of common industry electrical standards.
- Diagnosis, fault finding and repair skills.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, set priorities and manage time effectively.
- Strong decision making and problem-solving ability.
- Experienced in reactive and planned preventative electrical maintenance.
- Full team player ready to tackle challenges with passion, sense of humour and consideration of others.
- Full UK Driving License.
- CAN / NMEA experience (desirable).
- Basic fabrication skills
