Marine Resources are seeking sprayers to join our clients expanding Southampton team.
We are looking for experienced paint sprayers to join a busy team, working to a high standard spraying cabinetry in excellent working conditions. Working daily with many hardwoods including oak, cherry, walnut, maple and teak and offering a range of different varnished finishes.
External painting of hulls for anti-fouling and deck finishing.
Duties include:
- Prepare for spray, masking and sanding timber and GRP with a range for different grit wet or dry paper, using orbital sanders. Block and hand sanding in acute areas.
- Spraying, using a range of products on timber and GRP - polyurethane, polyester, water based, two pack, acrylic and epoxy. Using International, Seajet, Hempel products.
- Working in a team when doing large scale jobs, spraying yacht interiors, sanding and antifouling hulls, working independently on smaller tasks such as varnishing joinery components.
- Health and safety, ensuring the correct PPE is being used when working, and understanding of particular paint systems requirements.
- Attention to detail in all areas, having a keen eye, right-first-time approach and ensuring work passes quality control inspections.
Requirements
Essential
- At least 2 years of previous experience in a similar role
- Ability to be organised and work to close time deadlines
- Proven track record of completing work to a high standard
- Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate with peers in the Company
Desirable
Knowledge and experience in the marine industry as well as working with timber/ GRP boats.
Relevant C&G qualification or equivalent
Benefits
Full time, permanent, 40 + hours a week
Overtime after core 40 hours, paid at time and half
