Marine Resources are currently recruiting for a mumber of Plater/Fabricator for our client based in Portsmouth Naval Base on a full time permanent basis.
You will be part of the Locks and Docks team, assisting in Dock preps, Docking and undocking of vessels in PNB. Operation of tirfors and fitting of shores and undertaking basic slinging tasks and line handling for movement of vessels and caissons. You will be carrying out structural repairs to pontoons and brows and support all disciplines across the team to achieve contract delivery.
Requirements
• Served and successfully completed a recognized Shipwright/Plater Fabricator apprenticeship and in possession of a relevant trade qualification.
• Working knowledge/understanding in the safe operation and use of tirfors, shores and the relevant hand tools.
• Metalwork, welding and woodwork skills required for maintenance and repair of brows, pontoons and dockside infrastructure and the use of relevant hand tools.
• Flexible, Physically fit and adaptable approach. Must be self-motivated and reliable.
• Be prepared to support all outputs and disciplines to achieve contract delivery requirements
Must be a team player and be prepared to work emergency shift patterns and overtime at short notice to ensure that team deadlines are met.
• Welding Skills desirable (Training available)
Working hours are 37.5 a week with overtime at an enhanced rate.
