SENIOR FF&E DESIGNER – LUXURY YACHT DESIGN

A world-renowned superyacht design studio is seeking an exceptional Senior FF&E Designer to join their interiors team. The RoleAs a Senior FF&E Designer, you will take ownership of multiple high-profile projects, ensuring they are delivered to an impeccable standard, on time, and within budget. You will collaborate closely with the Project Director, Head of Interiors, and Project Manager, overseeing the full FF&E lifecycle – from conceptual development to the final onboard installation.
This position requires a specialist in luxury FF&E, with a deep understanding of the industry, supplier network, and high-end materials. You will be a mentor to junior designers, contributing to the continuous evolution of the studio’s design excellence. International travel to meet elite clients and visit prestigious shipyards is an integral part of this role.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the creative vision and execution of FF&E across multiple superyacht projects.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to refine and enhance the studio’s interior design processes.
  • Keep the FF&E team updated on the latest industry trends, innovative materials, and supplier developments.
  • Act as a mentor and guide to junior and mid-weight FF&E team members, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Liaise directly with high-net-worth clients, ensuring FF&E selections align with their unique lifestyle and aesthetic preferences.
  • Work closely with external suppliers, ensuring all furniture, fabrics, and materials meet the studio’s impeccable quality standards.
  • Oversee bespoke furniture design and production, ensuring a seamless process from concept to installation.
  • Maintain a meticulous approach to procurement, budget tracking, and schedule management in collaboration with the Procurement Manager.
  • Represent the studio at international project meetings, confidently presenting and defending design choices to clients and shipyards.
  • Ensure all FF&E selections adhere to compliance, sustainability, and functional requirements.
  • Champion sustainable design practices, sourcing materials and suppliers that align with ethical and environmental best practices.
  • Attend industry fairs, strengthening relationships with leading artisans, craftspeople, and luxury brands.
What You Bring
  • Proven expertise in luxury FF&E design within superyacht or ultra-high-end residential interiors.
  • A strong creative vision, with a refined eye for materials, furniture, and artwork.
  • A highly developed knowledge of bespoke craftsmanship, rare materials, and specialist suppliers worldwide.
  • A passion for innovation and sustainability within the luxury design space.
  • Exceptional project management skills, ensuring seamless execution from concept to completion.
  • The ability to build trust and rapport with discerning UHNW clients and shipyard teams.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset, able to manage risk and anticipate project challenges.
  • A confident and articulate communicator, able to present design concepts with poise and authority.
  • Expertise in InDesign, Photoshop, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
  • A willingness to travel internationally to oversee installations, supplier visits, and client meetings.
