International Sales/Business Development Manager

Join one of the world leading OEM's specializing in high-end marine systems across the commercial ship, military ship and luxury yacht markets. They are looking for an International Sales/Business Development Manager to join their dynamic team based on the South Coast of the UK. This role would suit someone who has experience in the marine industry in either a technical sales capacity or as a customer facing naval architect or chartered engineer. It is essential that you are someone strong technically, customer service focussed and motivated. 

Job Responsibilities include:
• Work with vessel designers and customers to provide solutions for improved seakeeping.
• Promote the company brand and product awareness and reputation; seek out and develop sales opportunities, stimulate customer inquiries
• Help assess vessel and shipbuilder motion control requirements, run in-house seakeeping simulation tools and produce reports
• Prepare and issue professional quotations, assess competitive environment, negotiate and secure orders/contracts.
• Build sustainable company-focused working relationships with Owners, Shipyards, Naval Architects, Captains and other crew, Brokers and all decision-makers and influencers.
• Help identify opportunities for business improvement, including potentially influencing product design and development.
. • International travel as necessary to attend sales meetings at key customer accounts and prospective customers primarily within Europe/worldwide as appropriate.
• Attend and support the company sales efforts at international trade shows, conferences, and exhibitions.
• Prepare sales reports, visit reports, market assessment reports and presentations. 

Candidate Requirements: 

• B2B marine sector knowledge, preferably in a technical sales capacity.
• Bachelor’s degree in naval architecture, marine, mechanical, or electrical engineering, or reasonably equivalent technical qualification.
• 5 – 10 years of experience in a B2B capacity within the marine industry.
• Prior experience in vessel seakeeping assessment by computer simulation or model testing is highly beneficial.
• Aptitude and general understanding of product-based systems, including electronic, software, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Professional and effective verbal and written communication skills.
