Senior Design Engineer

Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of mechanical systems and components
- Collaborating with the various departments to develop solutions, manage projects and coordinate with external vendors and partners
- Mentor and train junior members of the team
- Continuously improve design processes to ensure efficiency and quality
- Travel when required, including outside of the UK
Requirements:
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or similar
- Ideally you will have 7+ years of experience in a mechanical design/product development environment
- Expertise in CAD software ideally Creo or similar package, and FEA tools
- Strong understand of mechanical principles, like material selection, stress analysis and kinematics
- Experience with design for manufacturability and assembly
- Hands-on approach and ability to build and test prototypes and solutions
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ideally an interest or passion for the marine industry, like powerboating or sailing
