An opportunity for an Senior Naval Architect/Project Engineer to join a well-established shipyard based in Hampshire!
The Senior Naval Architect/Project Engineer is responsible for the Project Engineering of 1 or more Newbuild Projects under instruction from the Principal Naval Architect, ensuring the project remains compliant with the Technical Specification and to oversee the development of a Project from enquiry through to completion and handover. Responsible for all technical aspects of the project “Project Engineering”, including but not limited to: Naval Architecture, structural design, weights & stability, hullform, systems, outfit and certification; where relevant these can be delegated to 3rd parties with final oversight remaining with the Principal Naval Architect.
Experience required:
• Degree qualified in an engineering subject - Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or similar.
• Shipyard or Production environment background – ideally
• Experience of working with aluminum vessels
• Experience working with Flag/Class rules
• Understanding of all elements of vessel design including outfit, systems and structures
• Able to complete studies independently as well as working in a team
• Software experience in Rhino and AutoCAD (or similar packages)
